University of Edinburgh Expeditions Committee

Please note that the Expeditions Committee does not have any funds available to give out to Expeditions. Its purpose is to determine which expeditions can be endorsed by the University and be allowed to carry its name.

New Expedition Prospectus Form

In order to assist teams in drawing up their prospectuses the Expeditions Committee have produced a new all-inclusive prospectus form that includes sections detailing all the areas prospective expeditions need to think about when drawing up their plans. This form can be found via the link below.

Please note that it will be expected that all 2012/13 expeditions use this form as a starting point for drawing up their prospectuses.

Travel Insurance

Please note that approved University Expeditions are now eligible for coverage via the University travel insurance policy.

Expeditions Seminar 2011/12

The annual seminar to raise awareness among students of the opportunities for support and guidance in organising expeditions will take place on 12th October 2011. Please follow the link below for this year's seminar programme.

Please note that the Expeditions Committee considers Expedition Proposals from both Undergraduates and Postgraduates so long as the Expeditions involve two or more members.

Expedition prospectuses should be handed in to the Expeditions Committee Secretary by 11am on Friday 20th January 2012.

The Expeditions Society

In addition to this website students interested in organising or taking part in a University organisation should contact the Expeditions Society, which will be able to help you with further advice, guidance and training from people who have previously been on expeditions.
